How long does it take to fully charge this 36V 60Ah battery?
About 6 to 6.5 hours from a completely empty state using the included 42V 10A aluminum fast charger. Because this pack stores a massive 2,160Wh of energy, 10A is the sweet spot: it cuts your charge time in half compared to a standard 5A charger while keeping thermal stress low on the Samsung cells to extend overall cycle life.
Are the cells authentic Samsung 21700 50G, and how long will the pack last?
Yes, every pack is built with 120 genuine, factory-fresh Grade-A Samsung INR21700-50G cells—never recycled or B-grade stock. You can expect 800 to 1,000 complete charge cycles before capacity gradually steps down to 80%. For most everyday riders and long-distance commuters, that translates to 4 to 6 years of solid, dependable riding.
How waterproof and shockproof is the metal casing?
It is engineered specifically for harsh real-world riding. Unlike shrink-wrapped packs, the welded sheet metal housing repels gravel impacts and trail debris. Inside, cell bricks are cushioned with high-density shock-absorbing foam and sealed with structural waterproof potting glue. It easily handles rainy commutes and puddle splashes, though like any high-voltage system, it should never be submerged in standing water.
Which BMS rating should I choose: 30A, 50A, or 60A?
Base your choice on your motor wattage and controller current limit. Pick 30A for 250W to 1000W motors if maximum range and cruising efficiency are your priorities. Choose 50A for 1000W to 1500W motors, heavy cargo bikes, or moderate inclines. Select 60A if you run a 1500W to 2000W motor or need heavy torque and instant acceleration for steep hill climbs.
Can I charge and discharge this battery in freezing winter conditions?
You can safely ride and discharge the pack down to -20°C (-4°F), though cold temperatures will temporarily reduce mileage. However, charging must always take place above 0°C (32°F). The built-in smart JBD BMS monitors core temperatures continuously and will automatically block incoming charge current if the pack is freezing, protecting the lithium chemistry from irreversible plating damage.
