Real answers to setup, charging, and motor sizing questions.

Why is my 48V battery reading 54.6V when fully charged?
That is completely normal. A 48V lithium-ion pack is built in a 13S configuration (13 cells in series). Each Samsung cell charges up to 4.2V, meaning a 100% full pack rests at exactly 54.6V (13 x 4.2V). When it nears empty, voltage drops to around 39V.
Will the 5A fast charger degrade the Samsung 50G battery lifespan?
Not at all. This pack has 6 cells in parallel (13S6P, 30Ah total). A 5A charging current divides evenly across the 6 parallel banks, meaning each individual cell receives less than 0.84A. Samsung 50G cells easily handle up to 1.5A to 2.4A standard charging, so 5A is well within the sweet spot for preserving cycle life.
Which BMS current rating should I choose: 30A, 40A, or 60A?
Match the BMS rating to your motor controller's maximum amp draw. For standard 750W–1000W motors, the 30A BMS is ideal. For 1000W–1500W setups, pick 40A. For 1500W–2000W+ high-draw builds or steep off-road trail climbing, choose 60A to avoid tripping current cutoff.
How do I monitor the battery using the JBD Smart Bluetooth BMS?
Download the Xiaoxiang (or Overkill Solar / JBD BMS) app on iOS or Android. Turn on your phone's Bluetooth, open the app, and select your pack from the device list. You can view individual cell voltages, temperature probes, charge/discharge cycles, and remotely toggle the power switch.
Is this triangle battery pack waterproof for wet trail riding?
The pack features an internal epoxy board cage, a heavy-duty PVC heat-shrink outer wrap, and top waterproof silicone sealant to block wet road splash and light rain. However, no shrink-wrapped pack is submersible. For heavy downpours or muddy trail riding, we strongly recommend placing it inside a water-resistant triangle frame bag.
What is covered under the 2-Year Limited Warranty?
The 2-year warranty covers internal manufacturing defects, cell voltage drop anomalies, and BMS hardware failures under normal riding conditions. We supply replacement parts or pack servicing. Physical impact damage, water submersion, or unauthorized pack modifications are excluded.
