72V Battery FAQ

Got questions about 72V power, motor matching, or custom builds? Here are the honest answers.
Is a 72V battery better than a 48V or 52V battery?

If you want maximum speed and power, then yes. A 72V battery gives you way more peak power, faster acceleration, and higher top speeds. It also runs more efficiently than 48V or 52V systems, making it the perfect choice for high-performance electric motorcycles, fast e-bikes, and custom builds.

What motor power is suitable for a 72V battery?

These batteries are built for high-power systems. They usually pair up with motors rated from 2000W all the way up to 8000W and beyond. They are perfect for QS motors, high-torque hub motors, and mid-drives that need to maintain high speeds without breaking a sweat.

What discharge current do I need for my build?

This depends on your controller and how you ride. For normal, everyday riding, a 30A to 40A continuous BMS is usually fine. But if you have a high-performance build, climb steep hills, or love fast acceleration, you will want a 50A, 80A, or even higher continuous discharge to keep the battery from cutting out.

Which discharge connector should I choose?

You just need to match your controller and make sure the plug can handle the power safely. We offer a lot of great options for different setups, including XT60, XT90, XT90-S with anti-spark protection, heavy-duty QS8, and Anderson connectors.

Can BOOANT customize 72V battery packs?

Yes, we do this all the time. We can build a custom 72V battery to fit your exact project. You can choose the capacity, physical dimensions to fit your frame, the BMS discharge rating, the casing style like a metal box or waterproof wrap, and even smart features like Bluetooth or CAN bus communication.
